In a world that touts new technological advances hourly, you might be thinking that there’s just no possible way for your business to keep up.  I’m here to tell you that you are absolutely wrong about that and that, in fact, you probably already have an amazing asset at your fingertips (even if you don’t know it).  While email may seem like an antiquated way to reach your clients, email lists are not dead and today I’m going to teach you exactly why and how to use yours to reengage with your audience.

Did you know that email conversion is four times higher than that of any social media platform?  You might be asking yourself how this is possible, but think on it a while and it actually begins to make perfect sense.  Your emails are being sent directly to the inbox of your audience, while your social media posts have to meet certain criteria and be picked up by particular algorithms to even make it onto your client's feed.  For that reason alone, visibility is already going to be much higher.   If you’re relying solely on social media to reach your people, you’re eventually going to fizzle out because, what it all boils down to, is that you have very little control over who sees your content and you don’t even know if you will always have access to the platforms.  What, for example, might happen if you had a technical error and found yourself unable to log into your social media platform or somehow your entire account got wiped out?  How would you be able to reach your clients then?  What happened with your business back in October (2021) when Facebook and Instagram unexpectedly shut down for an entire day?  If you found yourself floundering and took a financial hit because you couldn’t access your clientele, that’s a pretty good indicator that it’s time to get back to some of the basics.

It’s also important to consider the large number of people who are not, even in this day and age, on social media sites and many of those who have simply set up their social media accounts to exchange pictures with their family members and stay in touch with close friends.  That being said, the vast majority of people (in all age brackets) have some sort of active email address.  Email is free, it’s incredibly fast and it’s easily accessible to mostly everyone.  The best part of email is that it allows you to speak directly to each of your audience members through a certain level of personalization (even something as simple as starting an email with ‘Dear So-and-so’) as opposed to the broad language of a social media post.  So, if you have access to this information (and I certainly hope that you do), what do you do next?

First and foremost, if you are a business owner that hasn’t been capturing this information from your clients, I am hoping that you will begin doing this immediately.  Even if you’re just a one-man show or you’ve recently started your business, growing your email list is imperative to lasting success.  This can be done with a simple client intake form during your first meeting, a few questions during your initial conversation or an automated form on your website.  You should commit to gathering, at the minimum, their name, email address, phone number and even their mailing address.  After all, everybody loves getting mail that isn’t a bill, right?  Once you have all of this information, you need to keep it all in a centralized location.  This creates future opportunities for you to keep notes on your conversations with your clients, keep track of their purchases, et cetera.  In this way you will always have a running game plan, knowing exactly when to follow up with them again.

After your database is situated, your responsibility continues.  It now becomes your job to actively engage with them on a regular basis.  Whether this is weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or something different will be largely dependent on what feels authentic to you.  This is where you might start to look into some email automation software or do some research on sites like Mailchimp or Flow Desk.  Then, it’s time to work on your content creation.  Your content should leave your clients feeling as though they’ve learned something from you and leave them wanting more.  They should be excited on days when your emails pop into their inboxes.  You could do this through a newsletter format, posting tips related to your product or service or something entirely different.  Either way, you want to make sure that you are using this platform as an opportunity to broaden the visibility of your business while considering the needs and wants of your clients.

Regular interaction will help to keep you active in your audience’s awareness.  For example, if my client finds themself at a crossroads where they determine that they are ready for a business coach, they are far less likely to scour the internet looking for one if they have my contact information handy in their inbox and they already have some built-in familiarity with my name and how I operate.  After all, nobody wants to hunt down information, particularly in this day and age.  We want instant gratification and dusting off your email list is a great way for you to make sure that your business is offering just that.  It’s that simple and now, it’s time for you to get to work!

If you’re still a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of putting all the pieces together, remember that you don’t have to do it all alone.  I am absolutely here for you and excited to help you achieve your dreams and take your business to the next level.  If you’re ready to learn more, there’s myriad ways you can make use of my proven techniques.  For one thing, keep tuning in each week and check out the rest of my blogs and podcasts.  You can also grab your copy of my new 22-page guide for only $17 that will teach you how to make the absolute most of your social media profiles and expand your visibility hugely.  You can find it at www.tracybeavers.com/visibility.  You can also visit my site to learn more about one-on-one coaching or you can find us on Facebook in the “Be a Confident Entrepreneur:  Gain Confidence and Grow Your Income” group.  However I can support you, I’m happy to be of service.

Email, Is it dead? Heck no! Email is one of your biggest asset when it comes to gaining visibility for your business and staying top of mine with your clients. So let's talk about why.  Did you know that email conversion is four times higher than any social media post? Does that surprise you? It surprises me. Actually, it's more likely to be seen. First of all, I mean think about it, the algorithms with social media. They only show your stuff to a very small percentage of your audience and when we use social media as the only way to build our businesses, you've heard me and others say this, so this isn't anything new, but it's like building your business on rented land. We do not own social media, we don't own Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter. All of those could disappear tomorrow, and the other thing that can happen, like what happened to me in the past two weeks: my Instagram account got disabled for no reason, no explanation, and I had to spend hours trying to find somebody that that could help me get that back up and running. So think for a second. Would you be able to reach your clients? Would you be able to make money if social media disappeared tomorrow and if the answer is no? You've got to get your client contact info today, like Pronto, like right after this training.

And back in October, when you're watching this now it's November 2021. Back in October, Facebook and Instagram shut down for an entire day. Many, many businesses lost thousands of dollars. Me. I was actually grateful for the break and I knew that if I needed to reach my clients, I had their email addresses and some of them I have their phone numbers. And on that day many, many businesses continued to make money and didn't miss a beat. One of my coaches. She made $17 000 that day, selling a course because she was able to email her audience. She didn't miss any money that day. Email is also super-fast, super cheap and super accessible to most everybody. Not all of your clients or prospects are on social media and some of them are on social media. They have profiles established but they don’t ever look at it. They’re just there, maybe to see pictures of grandkids or friends from college. Email puts your information at their fingertips and in front of their eyeballs. So what do you do with this information? I want you to decide today that you're going to begin capturing all of your contact information for your clients. You should be doing this as a best practice anyway, because if you've spent any time with me at all. You know that I feel like a CRM system is a must have for every business, no matter your business size. Even if you're just starting out, you've got to have a way to capture all of your client’s information. That is a pot of gold, you guys, a simple client intake form works great.

A simple conversation, just asking them for their contact information works great. People are used to giving their contact information. I mean think about it when you go to the doctor, they take your whole history right. So if you just said, hey, you know our business likes to make sure we stay in touch. Let me get a few key pieces of information from you. No worries, nobody's going to question that. I want you to at least record the basics ok? Name, email, cellphones and their mailing address. Yes, even their mailing address, my friends, because we need to bring back some thank you cards and some handwritten stuff for our clients. Everybody loves getting something in the mail that's personally for them and that's not a bill right, I mean think about it. When you get something in the mail, doesn't it kind of have an impact on you and you're like oh, they thought about me, that's really sweet. Then, you want to capture all that information and the key is to record it somewhere, like CRM software system, so that you can keep track of all of your clients, all of your conversations, make notes on the conversations. You can record the date they purchased or maybe what they purchased or maybe why they didn't purchase. Then you'll know when you can follow-up with them again, Right?

So all right, I'll get off the CRM soap box for a minute. But if you don't have a way to capture your client’s information and you don't want to use the software program, at least get a note pad and a pen, very basic, right. Once you have your clients email, it is very easy to email them once a week, twice a week, twice a month, whatever feels authentic to you and your business. And yes, this is something I help each of my coaching clients figure out. We decide the frequency and we lay out a-list of topics so that they are never stumped for what to say, because nothing is worse than staring at a screen going, Okay now, what am I going to say? Right, and your company may have an email automation service set up already within its software! Sweet, that would be a question I would get answered today, but if not, you can use something like Mailchimp, although I'm going to tell you it's not the most user-friendly platform in the world. There's a great one called Flow Desk. I personally love Flow Desk because it's literally plug and play and send. Its super easy, super user friendly. But there's a lot of email automation software out there and you may be thinking okay crazy. This sounds great, but what the heck do I even say? right, like we just talked about with the blank screen? Well, this is where you and I work together, like I do with my clients, and we easily map out a plan of content for you. You want your emails to be educational, something that your clients look forward to, something that they will open, sprinkle in a little information about you. You could even make it more like a newsletter format if you wanted to, with tips that are related to your product, your program or your service.

The whole idea of email is to use this as a vehicle to gain visibility for your business and stay top of mind with your clients. When my audience thinks, oh my gosh, I think I need a business coach. I think it's time to talk about business coaching. I do not want them to have to try to remember my name or try to hunt me down on social media. I want them to be able to easily remember my name because they've seen it in their inbox a lot and I want them to be able to find my emails that have my contact information on it. You guys, people are lazy when it comes to finding information. I admit I've been lazy when it comes to finding information too. We all want it right in front of us without having to hunt anything down. So make it super easy on your clients and your prospects and I hope this information about email has helped you and I do hope that you'll employ this strategy today, wipe the dust off those email contacts and get to work, re-engaging them so that you and your company stay top of mind.

So it's time for my favorite part of the training, where I get to highlight YOU. You can be featured too! Just comment or DM or contact me through my website and tell me how these trainings have helped you. I would love to know. So the highlight of the week goes out to my awesome client, Mary, and she says working with Tracy has absolutely changed the scope of my business in ways that I never planned. As a full-time working employee outside of a home, an entrepreneur with two businesses, a wife and a mom of three, it is hard to not feel completely overwhelmed all the time and Tracy listens. She really listens and she has an amazing way of seeing the issues. Even when I'm unable to express them. Tracy offers down-to-earth advice and practical solutions to get me unstuck so that I can get moving again and regain my confidence. I love it. Mary, It is a pleasure to support you in your business and I love that you're a doer. I love that you're an action taker and I love that you do not let perfectionism get in the way. If you guys know anyone else that would benefit from these trainings, please hit the share button, smash it for me, give me a thumbs up, give it a like and send it to them and before you go, something I've created specifically for you. If you're like me, paid advertising lately has been super frustrating and I'm talking about not just on social media but TV commercials, radio spots, magazine publications where you are locally. I don't know what kind of advertising you're paying for right now, but the visibility is tough because we see it seems like we're screaming into the void right.

So I have created a solution for you. How about gaining visibility for your business? More eyes on you without expensive ads. Can I get a Hallelujah? I’ve got five secrets for doing just that in my new 22 page guide that you guys can grab for only $17. I cover social media. How to be sure you are, you are maxing out every inch of your social media, profiles, your pages, your groups, all of it, and I guarantee you, you're not doing it because I see people making this mistake all the time. I want to make sure when it comes to your networking, you know exactly how everyone you meet. Yes, I said everyone, can fit into your business. I want you to know how to take your existing clients and turn them into your best source for warmed up referrals. I want to talk to you about what local opportunities you might be missing to get visibility for your business. What kind of media opportunities are out there for free? All that and more at tracybeavers.com/visibility. So until next time I'm here for you and I'm cheering you on and I just want you to have an awesome, awesome rest of the week and let's finish fourth quarter super strong.
